Outreach Project in the Dominican Republic
Spanish books the NFRC Donated to the Dominican Republic Mission
International Outreach
In July, Judy Bradbury provided copies of photos from Renny Staples of the Spanish books the NFRC donated to the Dominican Republic mission (our international outreach) being received. This is wonderful that we can continue to encourage reading in the world.

Spanish Books the NFRC Donated to the Dominican Republic Mission 2019-2020
Photos of books and notebooks donated by NFRC that were delivered to the Dominican Republic over the summer. These items were greatly appreciated by Pastor Kendall and his team in Cuba, (the barrio) Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, our International Outreach initiative.
Thanks to all NFRC members who donated items. We will continue to collect Spanish language books for children and young adults and new school supplies at NFRC events throughout the 2019-20 school year so we can continue this Outreach effort. For questions, please contact [email protected].

Re: Educational Needs in the Dominican Republic
Background: Jeff Hackett. Director of Advancement through Score International, lives in the Buffalo area and guides many local groups to the Dominican Republic. For 4 years I was part of a medical mission team led by Jeff to the D.R. During these weeklong ventures, I was able to witness the great needs of the Dominican people and to see Jeff’s passion for these people.
There are many different facets, but Jeff has shared two programs where he sees educational material needs most prevalently.
Emanuel House : This is a school for approximately 150 underprivileged children who live in very poor areas (slums) around the school. It serves PreK to 5th grade. They teach all the regular subjects, include 30 special needs children, and the program has a feeding program for all the children in the school.
Lily House: Lily House has minors and ladies with children in their program. Often the children do not attend public schools because they are so far behind in their education due to their circumstances. The program includes homeschooling until they are caught up and ready to attend the local school. They need school supplies and books for the homeschooling as well as what the children need when they do attend the public school.
Needs: pencils, pens, composition notebooks, construction paper, glue sticks, child scissors, crayons, markers, rulers, erasers, lightweight drawstring backpacks, and BOOKS in Spanish
Visit the Website: Go to that site and look under the ministries tab. Click on the children tab and you will see the education partners.
Shipping: No shipping is required. Jeff and his assistant, Jesse, would take the materials in an additional suitcase when they fly down. Most of the time Jeff’s bags are free. One of them (Jeff or Jesse) is usually in the D.R. once a month and could take them down and deliver them at that time.

Outreach Project in Nicaragua
Thank you to the many NFRC members who continue to support our International Outreach Project impacting the Cristo Rey School in Nicaragua. Your donations of new and used school supplies are greatly appreciated by the students and teachers of this school greatly in need of resources.
Additionally, through your membership in NFRC and raffle donations made at NFRC-sponsored events, our organization has been able to purchase and donate seven boxes of children’s books written in Spanish for the Cristo Rey schoolchildren. Thanks to your ongoing support, the NFRC has contributed a variety of materials that further the literacy of children in this community, thereby impacting lives for the better for many years to come. Please continue to support this worthwhile international literacy initiative throughout the school year.
