Information about the Speaker: Lauren Etu, MS CAS RYT, is a 20-year veteran school psychologist. She has worked with pre- schoolers to high school students across Western New York. Witnessing the impact of trauma, stress, and mental illness on children and their families drew Lauren to become a registered yoga teacher, as well as a certified trauma and resilience practitioner. After watching reward systems and behavior plans continue to miss the mark, she knew there had to be something different for these students. She learned recent neuroscience research has shown trauma and stress are stored in the body—you have to use your body to work through and process those emotions.
