Favorite Teaching Moment: Years ago, when I was teaching 5th grade
in the inner city, the toughest girl in the class lay her head on my
shoulder as I read aloud to the group.
Why You became a Teacher: I always wanted to be a teacher. I can't
ever remember wanting to be anything else, except for a brief period of time
in my junior year in high school when I passionately wanted to be an
interior designer despite the fact that I have no talent at drawing and had
taken no art courses whatsoever...which my guidance counselor politely
pointed out to me. I still wonder, though, as I did then: does that
matter?? And I still love to decorate!
