President Mary Beth Scumaci
Mary Beth Scumaci is a Clinical Assistant Professor with the School of Education for Medaille College. She enjoys sharing her elementary teaching experience with future teachers. Mary Beth is currently serving as President Elect for the NFRC and will serve as President during the 2011-2012 academic year. She also serves on the International Reading Association (IRA) Technology Committee. Mary Beth's favorite part of working with the NFRC is supporting the community service outreach programs that put books into the hands of children.

Treasurer Dr. Fenice Boyd
Fenice B. Boyd received her Ph.D. in Curriculum, Teaching, and Educational Policy from Michigan State University in 1996. She joined UB in 2001 after serving as a faculty member at the University of Georgia for six years. Dr. Boyd’s first faculty position was at Livingstone College, one of the Historically Black Colleges/Universities in Salisbury, NC. She started her teaching career as a music teacher in grades 2–9, and as a reading specialist in grades 7–9.

For almost 20 years Dr. Boyd has provided service to the education profession internationally as well as nationally. Her most recent accomplishment was winning a seat on the Board of Directors of the Literacy Research Association (formally the National Reading Conference) through an international election. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Niagara Frontier Reading Council where she serves as treasurer, and Chairperson for the Board of Trustees for Pinnacle Charter School located in the City of Buffalo. In her administrative role at UB, Dr. Boyd is leading the Graduate School of Education in its continuing accreditation with the Teacher Education Accreditation Council

Judy Bradbury
Judy Bradbury (www.judybradbury.com) is the author of The Read-Aloud Scaffold: Best Books to Enhance Content Area Curriculum, the Children’s Book Corner series of resource books for teachers, librarians, and parents; and the Christopher Counts! series of picture books for ages 4-7. She writes regularly for Children’s Writer, LibrarySparks, and the annual Writer’s Guide. Judy teaches graduate courses in Children’s Literature and offers workshops nationally on the topic of reading aloud to children. An advocate for promoting reading through community initiatives, Judy has received awards from NYSRA and the NFRC, for whom she is the Professional Development Chair.

Stacey Williams is a 5th grade Elementary Education Teacher for the Buffalo City School District. She is also an Adjunct Professor with the School of Education at Medaille College and a Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach at her school. Stacey is currently working as the Awards Chair for the NFRC during the 2011-2012 school year.
